ST. LOUIS — A motorist is suing a driver, citing alleged negligence.

Craig Martin filed a complaint Sept. 19 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Karen Shelton, alleging she failed to maintain proper control of her vehicle.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 2, 2016, he was driving northbound on Union Boulevard in St. Louis when the defendant negligently struck his vehicle. He claims he sustained serious and permanent injuries to his bilateral shoulders, neck and back; suffered severe pain and discomfort; and incurred medical expenses. The plaintiff holds Shelton responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to maintain a careful lookout and failed to slow down, swerve or stop to avoid colliding with his vehicle.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than $25,000 and further relief the court deems appropriate. He is represented by Ray B. Marglous, Robert S. Merlin and Sarah H. Hale of Ray B. Marglous PC in St. Louis.
