ST. LOUIS — A number of people are seeking approval for a settlement involving an insurance company in a wrongful-death case.

Taquan Wilbon, Alex Stevenson, Melinda Wilbon and others had filed a complaint Sept. 18 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against American Family Mutual Insurance Co., alleging the company to comply with its contractual obligations.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on June 4, 2016, the plaintiffs' decedent, Alex Wilbon, died when he was struck by a vehicle. The plaintiffs seek to settle their claim against defendant for $125,000. The plaintiffs hold American Family Mutual Insurance responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to settle their claim.

The plaintiffs seek an order approving this proposed settlement agreement and any further relief the court deems just and proper. They are represented by Andrea A. Stanley of Brown & Crouppen PC in St. Louis.
