ST. LOUIS — A minor who sued a dog owner is seeking court approval of a settlement.

Delaney Turner, a minor, by and through her mother and next friend Betsy Harnois, had filed a complaint in the St. Louis 22nd Judicial Circuit Court against Lori Windell, citing alleged negligence.

According to court documents, the plaintiff alleges that on March 15, 2016, she was injured when her left leg was bitten by a dog the defendant's dog. She claims she has incurred medical expenses to treat her injuries. The plaintiff agreed to settle her claim against the defendant for $30,000. The Harnois believes that the agreement and settlement were for the best interest of the minor plaintiff.

The plaintiff seeks an order authorizing the defendant to execute the indemnity and release agreement and for any relief the court may grant. She is represented by Brian D. Kurth of Meyerkord & Meyerkord LLC in St. Louis.
