ST. LOUIS — St. Louis County vehicle owners are suing a motorist for allegedly striking their vehicle.
Ashley R. Thomas and Anthony H. Coats filed a complaint Sept. 18 in the St. Louis 22nd Judicial Circuit Court against Kevin Machalek, alleging he failed to exercise the highest degree of care while operating his vehicle.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Aug. 25, 2017, their vehicle was struck by Machalek's GMC Sierra on S. 11th Street in St. Louis. As a result, plaintiffs claim they suffered serious bodily injuries and required significant medical treatment.
The plaintiffs hold Machalek responsible because he allegedly failed to keep a careful lookout, failed to pay proper attention while driving and failed to stop, swerve, reduce his speed or sound a warning.
The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment in a sum exceeding $25,000 that is fair and reasonable for injuries along with court costs and other relief the court deems just and proper. They are represented by Jeremy A. Gogel of The Gogel Law Firm in St. Louis.
