Man accused of driving on the wrong side of the road in St. Louis crash

ST. LOUIS — A driver is suing a motorist for allegedly driving on the wrong side of the road and striking another vehicle.

Carla Walker filed a complaint Sept. 22 in the St. Louis 22nd Judicial Circuit Court against Lawrence Cotton, alleging he failed his duty to operate his vehicle with the highest degree of care.

According to the complaint, Walker alleges that on Sept. 14, 2015, she was driving on North Broadway near Aurora Avenue in St. Louis when the defendant crossed the centerline and hit her vehicle.

As a result, Walker claims she sustained physical injuries requiring medical treatment that cost more than $7,000.

The plaintiff holds Cotton responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to stop, slow his speed, swerve or turn his vehicle to avoid a collision and failed to give or sound any signal or warning of approach.

The plaintiff seeks a judgment for damages in the amount of $25,000 for pre-judgment interest, together with costs expended. She is represented by Steven G. Gelber of Gelber, Gelber & Gelber PC in Clayton.
