ST. LOUIS — St. Louis County doctors are suing legal service providers, citing alleged professional negligence.

Dr. Richard C. Lehman and Dr. Michele D. Koo filed a complaint Sept. 26 in the St. Louis 22nd Judicial Circuit Court against Bryan Cave LLP, Lawrence Brody and Stephanie L. Moll, alleging they negligently deviated from the appropriate standards of care in performing their legal duties.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that in September 2006, they retained the defendants' legal services in connection with their various assets as well as for creditor protection planning and estate planning for themselves and their three children. They claim they have been damaged by having to pay out millions of dollars to resolve lawsuits filed against them as a result of defendants' alleged negligence. The plaintiffs hold Bryan Cave, Brody and Moll responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to provide competent legal advice and failed to properly retitle their properties, assets and investment accounts.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek actual damages, plus interest, attorneys' fees, costs and further relief to which they are entitled. They are represented by Dale Wiley and Robert S. Wiley of Wiley Law Office PC in Crane.
