ST. LOUIS — A towing company is suing a St. Louis woman, citing alleged negligence.

Doc's Towing Inc. filed a complaint Sept. 26 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Satonya Renee Crawford, alleging she breached her duty to exercise the highest degree of care in operating her motor vehicle.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 21, 2016, the parties were involved in a collision on Interstate 70, in which the plaintiff's tow truck sustained damages. Between July 1, 2016, and  Dec. 12, 2016, the plaintiff claims to have suffered additional damages for the loss of rental costs while its truck was being repaired. The plaintiff holds Crawford responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to maintain adequate attention on the roadway and failed to reduce her speed, stop or swerve to avoid colliding with the plaintiff's tow truck.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in the amount of $104,502.54, plus interest, costs expended for this action and further relief the court deems just and proper. It is represented by Keith K. Cheung, Edward J. Sluys and Katherine E. Henry of Curtis, Heinz, Garrett & O'Keefe PC in St. Louis.
