ST. LOUIS — A St. Louis couple is suing contractors, claiming they failed to complete work.

Doug Firley and Anna Mazzuca filed a complaint Sept. 25 in the St. Louis 22nd Judicial Circuit Court against Building Systems Technologies LLC, BST SYED Electrical Service Co. LLC, alleging the defendants violated the contract agreement in which they did not complete the work as agreed.

According to the complaint, the couple alleges that on Jan. 5, they agreed to a scope of work and entered into a contract where the defendant agreed to perform electrical work for the couple's property. The plaintiffs claim the defendants' employees damaged portions of the property and did not complete work outlined in the working contract, as well as filling a claim of lien on June 16.

As a result, the couple claims they been unable to obtain refinancing for the property.

The plaintiffs allege the defendants failed to complete the scope of the work outlined in the contract despite the client paying in full for the work and failed to follow the requirements before filling any documentation to establish a lien claim.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment for damages in excess of $50,000, plus attorney's fees, costs incurred and further relief the court deems necessary. They are represented by Matthew T. Nagel of Bistate Law Center in Chesterfield.
