ST. LOUIS — An AT&T employee is suing freight elevator service providers, citing alleged negligence.
Corita Randle filed a complaint Oct. 3 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Otis Elevator Co., David M. Shumake, Thomas Moore and Richard Tisell, alleging that the freight elevator service providers negligently maintained the elevator in an unsafe and dangerous condition.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Oct. 4, 2012, while in an elevator, she was injured when the elevator unexpectedly dropped and caused her to lose balance. She claims she sustained severe and permanent injuries to her head, neck, shoulders, arms, back and other parts of her body.
The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to properly maintain the elevator, failed to inspect and discover the dangerous condition and failed to warn her such condition.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than $25,000 and costs expended for this action. She is represented by Joseph L. Bauer Jr. of The Bauer Law Firm LLC in St. Louis.
