ST. LOUIS — A woman is suing the director of a food company, citing alleged violation of workers' compensation acts.

Felicia Huntley filed a complaint Sept. 27 in the St. Louis 22nd Judicial Circuit Court against Roya Moshiri and Healthy Meal Creations Inc., alleging that they violated the Missouri's Minimum Wage Law (MMWL).

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between 2014 and Dec. 1, 2016, she worked full-time with the defendants with an agreed compensation per hour for standard hours and 1.5 times the regular rate for hours worked over 80 per two-week period. Despite performing her duties, the plaintiff claims she was paid less and failed to receive overtime compensation. She would then be offered a loan to assist with her personal expenses with interest deducted in her salary to guarantee her continued employment with defendants.

The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly improperly withheld wages over a two-year period and failed to keep a summary of time records and overtime hours that employees actually work.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks to award of damages consisting of the unpaid wages, unpaid overtime wages, consequential damages and further relief the court deems just. She is represented by Richard A. Voytas and Nathan E. Ross of Ross & Voytas LLC in St. Louis.
