Driver sues over injuries sustained at St. Louis intersection

Car accident 26

ST. LOUIS — A vehicle driver is suing another motorist for allegedly causing a collision while trying to make a right turn at a high speed.

Walter Williams filed a complaint on Oct. 4 in the St. Louis 22nd Judicial Circuit Court against Yvonne Lewis, alleging that the defendant failed in her duty to exercise ordinary care while operating her vehicle on a public roadway.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 3, 2015, while his vehicle was stopped at a red light on Riverview Drive at Hall Street, the defendant allegedly lost control of her vehicle, struck the electric signal and then hit his vehicle. As a result, Williams claims he suffered physical injuries and pain and incurred medical bills.

The plaintiff holds Lewis responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to apply her brakes when necessary, failed to drive at a safe speed and failed to keep a careful lookout.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in an amount consistent with the jurisdictional minimum and any further relief the court deems proper. He is represented by Lorenzo Hester of Lorenzo Hester in St. Louis.
