ST. LOUIS — An invitee is suing the operator of a St. Louis hotel, citing alleged negligence.

Francesca Fenner filed a complaint Oct. 18 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against TEI (ES) LLC, alleging that the hotel operator failed to furnished a guestroom with a sofa sleeper that is not defective.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Oct. 21, 2012, she was at the defendant's Lumiere Place Casino and Hotels when she was injured while attempting to sit on a sofa sleeper bed inside her hotel room. She sustained serious, permanent and progressive injuries resulting in pain, mental anguish and medical expenses. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible because it allegedly failed to maintain the sofa sleeper in a reasonably safe condition and failed to provide adequate warning that it was defective and dangerous.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages in a fair and reasonable amount of more than $25,000, costs of this action and such other relief that the court may deem appropriate. She is represented by Robert M. West of The Law Offices of Robert M. West in Clayton.
