ST. LOUIS — A vehicle driver is suing for alleged negligence in operating a tractor-trailer.

Ambur Schwartz-Means filed a complaint Oct. 17 in the St. Louis 22nd Judicial Circuit Court against K&B Transportation and Brian Gooch, alleging the defendant failed his duty to use the highest degree of care while operating and maintaining a vehicle.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 22, 2014, while in his vehicle stopped at the Ninth Street intersection with Salisbury Street, K&B Transportation's tractor-trailer driven by Gooch allegedly crashed into the front of the plaintiff's vehicle.

As a result, Schwartz-Means claims to have suffered physical injuries and medical bills amounting to $48,937.40.

The plaintiff holds K&B Transportation and Gooch responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to maintain a knowledge and understanding of state and federal motor carrier safety regulations pertaining to procedures for safe vehicle operations.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in an amount in excess of $25,000 for costs and fees incurred and any other relief the court deems just and proper. He is represented by Frederick J. Ludwig of Ludwig Law Firm LLC in St. Louis.
