ST. LOUIS — A woman is suing a bar for allegedly improperly maintaining a mechanical bull, which resulted in injuries.

Lindsay Bearden filed a complaint Oct. 17 in the St. Louis 22nd Judicial Circuit Court against SL Western Lounge LLC, doing business as PBR St. Louis, and Zackery Knickman, alleging the defendants failed their duty to maintain and operate the mechanical bull in a reasonably safe manner.

According to the complaint, Bearden alleges that on May 21, she was at the defendants' bar when she was injured after riding the mechanical bull. The plaintiff claims her right radial artery was severed by a watch she had on her wrist while riding the bull.

As a result, Bearden claims she sustained serious and permanent injuries, lost wages and incurred medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to inform customers of the possibility of injury while riding the mechanical bull, failed to advise customers on how to ride the mechanical bull properly and failed to properly monitor and supervise people riding the mechanical bull.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in a sum greater than $25,000 as is fair and reasonable together with costs, and for such further relief as is just and equitable. She is represented by Thomas J. Magee of HeplerBroom LLC in St. Louis.
