ST. LOUIS — A St. Louis man is suing a bar and bartender, citing alleged negligence.
Nicolas Jones filed a complaint Oct. 13 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against 1212 Inc., doing business as Hair of the Dog, and John Doe, bar operator and bartender alleging that defendant Hair of the Dog failed to take necessary steps to eliminate the foreseeable risk of battery committed by defendant Doe.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 29, he was at Hair of the Dog when the bartender forcibly removed him from the bar and intentionally struck him with a baseball bat. He claims he sustained serious and permanent injuries to his right knee, joints, muscles and other parts of his body and suffered pain and disability, lost wages and incurred medical expenses.
The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because Hair of the Dog allegedly failed to properly train its employees not to inflict harm on their guests.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages against defendants, jointly and severally in an amount of more than $25,000, costs of this action and other relief the court deems just and proper. He is represented by Bryan J. Sanger of Mandel & Mandel LLP in St. Louis.
