Driver seeks damages after collision near I-70 ramp

Car accident 27

ST. LOUIS – A woman is seeking damages after her vehicle was struck near an interstate ramp in St. Louis.

Lillian Reeves filed a complaint on Oct. 24 in the St. Louis 22nd Judicial Circuit Court against Cartrese McElvaine alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 5, 2014, she was attempting to enter the ramp to Interstate 70 when she was struck by the defendant, causing her to strike a building. As a result, Reeves claims she suffered physical injuries and incurred medical bills.

The plaintiff holds McElvaine responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to keep a careful lookout, drove at an excessive speed for conditions and failed to apply brakes to avoid an accident.

The plaintiff seeks judgment in an amount consistent with the jurisdictional minimum and any further relief the court deems just and proper. She is represented by Lorenzo Hester of The Hester Group LLC in St. Louis.
