St. Louis homeowners sue contractor over roof leak

Contract 02

ST. LOUIS — Two homeowners are suing a company that performs home renovations, citing alleged breach of contract during roof repairs.

David and Cora Beck filed a complaint on Oct. 24 in the St. Louis 22nd Judicial Circuit Court against New Bi-State Remodeling Group LLC, alleging that the defendant failed to comply on the agreed terms made in the contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Aug. 27, 2016, they hired the defendant to replace the roof on their property, but those repairs resulted in property damage. Water leaks occurred, resulting in property damage in the amount of $67,535.02.

The plaintiffs hold New Bi-State Remodeling Group LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to properly tarp the property while replacing the roof, causing water to leak into the home.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment in the amount of $67,535.02, together with court costs and any further relief the court deems proper. They are represented by Mark G. McMahon of the Law Offices of Mark G. McMahon in Clayton, Mo.
