ST. LOUIS — A vehicle passenger is suing a motorist for allegedly attempting an illegal turn at an intersection, causing a collision and injuries to the passenger.
Martez Morgan of Cahokia, Ill., filed a complaint on Oct. 24 in the St. Louis 22nd Judicial Circuit Court against Darren Harrell, also of Cahokia, alleging that the defendant failed to manage and control his motor vehicle, causing the collision with another motor vehicle.
According to the complaint, Morgan alleges that on Aug. 27, 2015, Harrell collided with another vehicle while attempting to turn at the intersection of Washington Boulevard and Vandeventer Avenue in St. Louis. Morgan was a passenger in the defendant's vehicle and claims he sustained physical injuries.
The plaintiff holds Harrell responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to drive in a prudent manner, failed to keep a proper lookout and failed to yield the right-of-way.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment for damages, compensation for the maximum amount allowable, attorney fees and any other relief the court deems proper. He is represented by David Bryant of David Bryant Law LLC in Florissant, Mo., and Lorenzo Hester of the Hester Group LLC in St. Louis.
