ST. LOUIS — A vehicle driver is suing a public transportation agency after one of its buses allegedly collided with the plaintiff's car, causing injuries.
Hussein Jabbar filed a complaint on Oct. 24 in the St. Louis 22nd Judicial Circuit Court against Bi-State Development Agency, which does business as Metro, alleging that the defendant's bus driver failed to properly operate its vehicle.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Dec. 2, 2015, his vehicle was struck at on Goodfellow Avenue at the intersection with Delmar Street by the defendant's bus. As a result, Jabbar claims he suffered physical injuries and incurred medical expenses amounting to $7,142.
The plaintiff holds Metro responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to keep a careful lookout, failed to properly use the traffic lanes and failed to yield the right-of-way.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in excess of $25,000. He is represented by Kurt C. Hoener of Hoener & Cooper LLC in St. Louis.
