Mid-County Orthopaedic Surgery, doctor sued after finger amputation

Medical malpractice 03

ST. LOUIS — A patient is suing Mid-County Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine PC and Dr. Tyler Krummenacher, alleging that their negligence led to the amputation of part of his finger.

Nelson Williams filed a complaint on Nov. 1 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they failed to exercise reasonable care in performing subungual hematoma drainage on his injured finger.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that as a result of defendants' negligence, he permanently lost part of his finger and experienced pain and suffering, disfigurement, aggravation and additional surgical intervention and medical expenses.

The plaintiff holds Mid-County Orthopaedic Surgery and Krummenacher responsible because the defendants allegedly breached their continuing duty of care and treatment that was essential to his recovery.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant in excess of $25,000, costs of this action and any other relief the court deems proper. He is represented by Nicholas P. Llewellyn II of the Law Offices of Nicholas P. Llewellyn II in St. Louis.
