Subway/Wing Stop owner accused of improperly withholding wages

Law money 13

ST. LOUIS — A sandwich maker is suing Subway shop operators, citing alleged violation of workers compensation acts.

Roy House filed a complaint on Oct. 30, in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Roya Moshiri and Healthy Meal Creations Inc., alleging that they violated the Missouri Minimum Wage Law.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that during his tenure with the defendants, he suffered substantial loss of money because he did not receive the agreed upon hourly rate. The defendants allegedly orchestrated a variety of schemes to improperly withhold wages from his paycheck, failed to pay the agreed upon hourly wage and refused to pay for many hours he worked in excess of 80 hours per two-week period.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury, and seeks double the amount of unpaid regular and overtime wages, consequential damages, attorney's fees, costs, and any other relief as the court may deem just and proper. He is represented by Richard A. Voytas Jr., Nathan E. Ross and Ethan W. Gee of Ross & Voytas LLC in St. Louis.
