Woman sitting in car allegedly injured by negligent driver

Car accident 40

ST. LOUIS — A St. Louis is suing a motorist for allegedly driving her vehicle into the car that she was sitting in.

Maisha McCain filed a complaint on Oct. 26 in the St. Louis 22nd Judicial Circuit Court against Precious Portis, alleging that the defendant failed to keep her vehicle under control.

According to the complaint, McCain alleges that on March 15, 2016 Portis' car hit the vehicle she was sitting in. As a result, McCain claims she sustained bodily injuries, inconvenience and medical expenses.

The plaintiff holds Portis responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to keep a careful lookout, failed to pay proper attention and drove her vehicle too fast for conditions.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in a sum exceeding $25,000 to compensate for damages, along with court cost incurred, and any other such other relief the court deems just and proper. She is represented by Jeremy A. Gogel of The Gogel Law Firm in St. Louis.
