Driver's improper left turn allegedly caused crash

Car accident 01

ST. LOUIS — A local woman is suing a New Hampshire man, claiming he made an improper turn that caused an accident in a St. Louis intersection.

Jewell Boyd filed a complaint on Oct. 26 in the St. Louis 22nd Judicial Circuit Court against Phillip Ayres alleging that the defendant allowed his vehicle to come into collision with another vehicle.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff said that on Dec. 7, 2016 her vehicle was struck at the intersection of Riverview and Hall Street when Ayres allegedly made a left turn in front of her vehicle, causing a collision. As a result, Boyd claims she sustained physical injuries, suffered pain and inconvenience.

The plaintiff holds Ayres responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to keep his motor vehicle in control, failed to keep a careful lookout and failed to pay proper attention on the road.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury; and seeks judgment in a sum exceeding $25,000 that is fair and reasonable to compensate for damages, along with court cost incurred, and for such other relief the court deems just and proper. She is represented by Jeremy A. Gogel of The Gogel Law Firm in St. Louis.
