Motorist accused of running stop sign, causing accident

Car accident 12

ST. LOUIS — A motorist is suing another driver, who allegedly ran a stop sign and collided with her car.

Sarah Burke filed a complaint on Oct. 30 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Leo Harris alleging that he breached his duty to operate his motor vehicle in a careful and prudent manner.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 15, 2015, she was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze southbound on Marcus Avenue when the defendant allegedly failed to stop at the traffic sign and crashed into the driver's side of her vehicle. Burke said she  sustained serious injuries to her head, which resulted in severe pain, discomfort, loss of mobility and medical expenses.

The plaintiff holds Harris responsible because he allegedly failed to observe a stop sign and failed to yield the right of way.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages in an amount greater then $25,000, costs of court proceedings, and any other relief as the court deems just and appropriate. She is represented by Robert S. Merlin and Sarah H. Hale of Ray B. Marglous PC in St. Louis.
