Accident on I-270 leads to lawsuit

ST. LOUIS — A motorist is suing another driver, alleging insufficient measures were taken to prevent a crash on Interstate 270.

Ashley Chapman filed a complaint on Oct. 31 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Larhonda Brown alleging that the other motorist failed to maintain her motor vehicle under proper control.

According to the complaint, Chapman alleges that on July 21, 2016, she was driving her 2012 Ford Escape on I-270 when the defendant caused the motor vehicle she was driving to collide with the plaintiff's vehicle. Her vehicle suffered approximately $13,960 in damage. She also incurred additional damages for loss of its use in the amount of $525.

The plaintiff holds Brown responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to keep careful lookout for other vehicles on the road.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in the amount of $25,000, together with costs, and all other relief that are just and proper. She is represented by Mark G. McMahon and Michael B. Hill of Law Offices of Mark G. McMahon in Clayton.
