Driver allegedly rear-ended in crash claims recklessness

Car accident 04

ST. LOUIS — A driver is suing another motorist for allegedly driving recklessly and slamming into the back of his vehicle.

Deandre Davis filed a complaint on Nov. 16 in the St. Louis 22nd Judicial Circuit Court against Twyla Thomas alleging that the defendant violated state and local traffic laws and ordinances.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 16, 2016 he was driving on North Florissant Avenue near its intersection with Dodier Street when Thomas' vehicle allegedly slammed into the back of his vehicle.

As a result, Davis claims he sustained physical injuries and emotional trauma, and incurred medical expenses.

The plaintiff holds Thomas responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to keep a careful lookout, drove too fast for conditions, failed to yield the right of way and failed to apply her brakes.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment for damages in an amount in excess of $25,000, plus all costs expended, and for any additional relief the court deems just and proper under the circumstances. He is represented by J. Ryan Kelly and Justin M. Stephens of Stephens Kelly Law in St. Louis.
