ST. LOUIS — A former employee is suing a St. Louis hospital operator, citing alleged discrimination, retaliation and wrongful termination.
Terri Hutcherson filed a complaint on Nov. 19 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against SSM-SLUH Inc. alleging that the hospital operator violated the Missouri Human Rights Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she was harassed while working as a laboratory assistant/phlebotomist at St. Louis University Hospital and was ultimately wrongfully terminated on March 24, 2016. The plaintiff holds SSM-SLUH responsible because the defendant allegedly retaliated against her and subjected her to adverse employment actions by terminating her employment after she advocated for another employee was also enduring harassment.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury, and seeks damages of not less than $25,000 and any further relief as the court may deem just. She is represented by Douglas Ponder and Jaclyn M. Zimmermann of Ponder Zimmermann LLC in St. Louis.
