ST. LOUIS — A convenience store operator is suing the City of St. Louis Board of Adjustment over its refusal to allow window screens on its property.

Alliance Petroleum Inc. filed a complaint on Nov. 17 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against the City of St. Louis Board of Adjustment alleging that the government entity wrongfully prevented its convenience store at 4251 Lindell Blvd. from utilizing professionally prepared window screens.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that as a result of the defendant's unfair discrimination, its ability to run its business has been damaged. The plaintiff holds the board responsible because the defendant allegedly refused to allow plaintiff's application for multipurpose screening on its convenience store's windows and threatened to shut down the store.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks an order reversing the defendant's determination, award for reasonable attorney's fees, costs, and any further relief that the court may deem just and proper. It is represented by Daniel S. Peters of Herzog Crebs LLP in St. Louis.
