Siblings claim asbestos fibers caused brother's death

Asbestos 10

ST. LOUIS — Surviving siblings of a laborer/custodian are suing various companies, citing alleged failure to warn of the effects of asbestos fibers while inhaling them.

Juliet Harris, Joyce Endicott and Patricia Chrisco, as the surviving heirs of Larry G. Harris, filed a complaint on Nov. 17 in the St. Louis 22nd Judicial Circuit Court against General Gasket Corporation; H.M. Royal, Inc.; Liquidating Reichhold Inc.; et al,  alleging that the defendants manufactured, sold, distributed or installed certain products with asbestos fibers that were highly toxic, deleterious, poisonous and harmful to the health of individuals.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs  stated that, between 1964 and 1970, Larry G. Harris worked as a laborer for various contractors and was allegedly exposed to asbestos-containing products.  He was diagnosed with mesothelioma on June 22, 2015, allegedly because of his exposure to asbestos. He died on Aug. 9, 2015, which allegedly left his family deprived of his support and companionship.

The plaintiffs allege the defendants failed to provide adequate warnings to persons working with or around the products of the dangers of inhaling, ingesting or otherwise absorbing the asbestos fibers contained in them.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment for damages in an amount in excess of $25,000. They are represented by Randy L. Gori of Gori, Julian & Associates, PC in Edwardsville, Illinois.
