Broadway Avenue accident spawns lawsuit

Car accident 04

ST. LOUIS — A motorist is suing another motorist, citing alleged negligence in an accident that occurred near Broadway and Pope avenues.

Wynetta Cook filed a complaint on Nov. 13 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Terrence Lee, alleging that he  failed to exercise the highest degree of care in operating a motor vehicle.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 9, 2015, she was operating a motor vehicle traveling north on Broadway Avenue, near its intersection with Pope Avenue, when the defendant violently crashed the motor vehicle he was driving into her vehicle.

She allegedly sustained permanent and progressive injuries to her back, neck and left shoulder, which resulted in medical expenses. The plaintiff holds Lee responsible because the defendant allegedly carelessly drove his vehicle at an excessive rate of speed, failed to maintain careful lookout and failed to yield the right of way.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages in an amount in excess of the jurisdictional limits of the court, plus interest, costs and any further relief that is appropriate. She is represented by Brent E. Labowitz of DeFeo and Kolker LLC in Clayton.
