Driver sued after allegedly hitting parked vehicle

Car accident 21

ST. LOUIS CITY — A motorist is suing another driver, citing alleged insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries.

Jamal Al Kurwi filed a complaint on Dec. 4 in the St. Louis 22nd Judicial Circuit Court against Andrew Dorsey alleging he failed to exercise the highest degree of care while operating a motor vehicle.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Dec. 6, 2015, he was parked on Loughborough Avenue near Hampton Avenue when the defendant drove his vehicle into the back of his car. He allegedly suffered serious and painful injuries to his head, neck, shoulder and back. He also claims to have lost wages in the sum of $1,560 and sustained property damage of more than $7,500.

The plaintiff holds Dorsey responsible because he allegedly failed to keep careful lookout and negligently caused his vehicle to come into contact with the plaintiff's vehicle.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury; and seeks damages of more than $25,000, together with costs of this action, and such other relief that are just and proper. He is represented by R. Tyson Mutrux of The Mutrux Law Firm LLC in Clayton.
