Property & Casualty Insurance, client sued by injured driver

Car accident 38

ST. LOUIS — A motorist is suing Eddie Lee Anderson and Property & Casualty Insurance Company of Hartford, citing alleged breach of contract and negligence.

Alfred Sykes filed a complaint on Dec. 8 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against the defendants alleging that Anderson beached his duty to operate his vehicle in a careful manner.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 12, 2016 he was seriously and permanently injured when Anderson drove into the back of his vehicle. He allegedly suffered injuries both internally and externally, and incurred medical and chiropractic care expenses of more than $23,000.

At the time of the accident, the insurance policy issued by to the defendant Property & Casualty was in effect.

The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because Anderson allegedly failed to stop at a safe distance and failed to swerve to avoid colliding with plaintiff's vehicle. To date,  Property & Casualty Insurance allegedly has not paid the fair value of his claim.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury; and seeks damages of more than $25,000, costs expended for this action,  and any other relief that are just and proper. He is represented by Thomas Traube of Sorrell & Traube, Attorneys at Law in St. Louis.
