ST. LOUIS — A patron is suing local theater operators, citing alleged negligence.

Jordan Oakes filed a complaint on Dec. 21 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Kranzberg Art Center and Max & Louie Productions alleging that the theater operators breached their duties to ensure the safety of their patrons.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 3, 2017, he attended a play at Kranzberg Art Center that was produced by Max & Louie Productions. While walking from his seat, he allegedly fell off  bleachers that lacked railing. He allegedly sustained severe and permanent injuries to his right bicep and arm that resulted in substantial medical expenses.

The plaintiff holds Kranzberg Art Center and Max & Louie Productions responsible because the defendants allegedly negligently created a dangerous condition by erecting bleachers without railings and by failing to warn invitees that such conditions existed.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury; and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount that exceeds $25,000, plus costs of this action and any further relief that the court may deem appropriate. He is represented by Michael J. Sudekum of Mandel & Mandel LLP in St. Louis.
