ST. LOUIS — A pedestrian is suing the City of St. Louis, alleging insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries.
Michelle Brown filed a complaint on Dec. 19 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against the City of St. Louis alleging that the government entity failed to maintain the sidewalk in a reasonably safe condition.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 6, 2017, she was walking on the sidewalk along South Grand when she tripped and fell on an uneven sidewalk. She allegedly suffered progressive and disabling injuries to her face, hand, knee and hands.
The plaintiff holds the city responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to exercise ordinary care to remedy or barricade the dangerous condition, and failed to warn the general public of the existence of such condition.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury; and seeks damages in an amount that is fair and reasonable, and such other and further relief as the court may deem reasonable. She is represented by Spencer Farris of The S.E. Farris Law Firm in St. Louis.
