ST. LOUIS — An individual is suing a gas station and store operator, citing alleged failure to protect.
Mitchell Duclos filed a complaint on Dec. 19 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Crown Mart 16 LLC alleging that the gas station and store operator failed to ensure customers' safety.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 9, 2017, he was standing at the parking lot in front of the defendant's store when he was assaulted from the back by an unknown individual and was hit by a sharp weapon that knocked him to the ground. He sustained multiple cuts and scars to his head, arms, hand and face.
The plaintiff holds Crown Mart 16 responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide sufficient security or to implement adequate safety measures to prevent or stop violence that may occur on the premises.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury; and seeks damages of more than $70,000, plus costs of this action. He is represented by David M. Pentland of David M. Pentland Attorney at Law in St. Louis.
