Pedestrian sues motor vehicle driver for negligence

Law money 04

ST. LOUIS — A pedestrian is suing a motor vehicle driver, alleging negligence.

Mary Brown filed a complaint on Dec. 18 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Noah Cohan alleging that the motor vehicle driver failed to exercise the highest degree of care in operating a motor vehicle.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan 23, 2013, she was attempting to cross Forest Park Boulevard when she was struck by an automobile being operated by the defendant. She sustained injuries to her right hip, right leg, right knee, back and lumbar spine; and incurred medical expenses of more than $30,000.

The plaintiff holds Cohan responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to yield to a pedestrian, failed to maintain proper lookout, and failed to stop or swerve to avoid hitting the plaintiff.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury; and seeks damages of not less that $25,000, plus costs of this action, and all further relief as the court deems just and proper. She is represented by Patrick L. Mickey of Brown & Crouppen PC in St. Louis.
