ST. LOUIS — An employee is suing BNSF Railway Company, alleging an unsafe work environment.

Darrick E. Coker filed a complaint on Dec. 22 in the St. Louis 22nd Judicial Circuit Court against BNSF Railway Company alleging that the common carrier company failed to provide a safe place to work.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that as a result of the defendant's conduct, he sustained serious and permanent injuries to his neck, arm, elbow, wrists and left shoulder; and was caused to suffer lost of substantial wages and benefits of more than $200,000, and incurred necessary medical treatment expenses.

The plaintiff holds BNSF responsible because it allegedly failed to provide equipment to mitigate the effect of repetitive hand trauma, overuse, and excessive torque, vibration and stress.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury; and seeks damages of not less than $25,000, plus costs of this action. He is represented by Steven L. Groves of Groves Powers LLC in St. Louis.
