ST. LOUIS — Three people are suing a motorist, citing alleged negligence.
Deanna Thomas, Delvon Harrison and Delvon Harrison Jr., a minor, filed a complaint on Dec. 21 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Melvin Davidson alleging that he breached his duty to exercise the highest degree of care while operating a motor vehicle.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on May 11, 2016, they were in a 2012 Chevy Camaro being driven by Thomas northbound on Goodfellow near its intersection with Park Lane when the defendant carelessly attempted an illegal U-turn, crossing the plaintiffs' path and colliding with their vehicle. They allegedly sustained painful, permanent and disabling injuries and damages.
The plaintiffs hold Davidson responsible because he allegedly failed to maintain careful lookout, failed to yield the right of way and failed to take evasive actions at the first appearance of danger.
The plaintiffs request a trial by jury; and seek judgment in their favor in an amount of more than $25,000 for each of them, plus interest, costs, and all other additional relief as the court may deem just and proper. They are represented by John L. Wilbers of The Wilbers Law Firm LLC in St. Louis.
