City of St. Louis employee accused of negligence in crash

Car accident 16

ST. LOUIS — A passenger is suing two motorists and an employer, alleging negligence.

Juanita Times filed a complaint on Nov. 28 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against James A. Richardson, Dishay Dantzler and the City of St. Louis alleging that Richardson and Dantzler carelessly operated their motor vehicles and caused an accident with one another.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Dec. 28, 2012, she was a passenger in a motor vehicle being driven by Dantzler when they collided with the vehicle operated by defendant Richardson, who was in the course and scope of his employment with the City of St. Louis at the time. She allegedly sustained injuries to her head, neck and back.

The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because Richardson and Dantzler allegedly negligently failed to sound their horns or give any signal of their approach, failed to maintain careful lookout, and failed to slacken speed, stop or swerve to avoid the collision.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants in an amount of more than $25,000, plus costs of this action. She is represented by Cecil L. Skaggs of Central West End Law Office in St. Louis.
