Young America Insurance accused of breaching contract

Insurance 09

ST. LOUIS — A motor vehicle passenger is suing Young America Insurance Company, alleging refusal to pay.

Bryan Thomas filed a complaint on Dec. 26 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Young America Insurance Company alleging that the licensed insurer breached the covenant of good faith and fair dealing.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 23, 2016 he was a passenger in an insured motor vehicle when it was involved in a accident that was caused by a hit and run motorist. He allegedly sustained serious injuries that required medical care and treatment. He is now seeking to recover damages caused by the unknown motorist's negligence.

The plaintiff holds Young America Insurance Company responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to fully compensate plaintiff's damages.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury; and seeks damages of more than $25,000, plus costs of this action, and all other just and proper relief. He is represented by Jeremy A. Gogel of The Gogel Law Firm in St. Louis.
