ST. LOUIS — A bicycle rider is suing a motorist, alleging negligence.

Peggy Shamleffer filed a complaint on Jan. 2 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Phylicia Anderson alleging that the motorist breached her duty to operate a motor vehicle in a careful and prudent manner.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 12, 2017 she was riding a bicycle westbound on Forsyth Boulevard crossing Skinker Boulevard with a green light when the defendant carelessly made a left turn and crashed into the her. She allegedly sustained serious and progressive trauma to her head, eye, ear and ankle, and was caused to incur $32,387.63 in medical expenses.

The plaintiff holds Anderson responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to keep careful lookout, failed to yield the right of way and negligently executed a left turn when it was not safe to do so.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury; and seeks damages of not less than $25,000 plus costs of this action, and all other relief that the court may deem proper and necessary. She is represented by Alvin Wolff Jr. and Alexander Wolff of Wolff & Wolff Trial Lawyers in St. Louis.
