ST. LOUIS — A mother and her minor children are suing a day care center, alleging insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries.

Nicole Lashley, individually and as next friend to Coleton Lashley, Skyler Lashley and Chase Lashley, filed a complaint on Sept. 26 in the St. Louis 22nd Judicial Circuit Court against Adventure Learning Center Ltd. alleging that the day care center breached its duty to keep the children free from injuries.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Dec. 7, 2016 the children were in the care of the defendant's day care center when the defendant's employees instructed Coleton Lashley to fight with another child while Skyler and Chase Lashley were watching. As a result, Coleton Lashley allegedly was hit in the face, and suffered injuries to his body and mind; and Skyler and Chase Lashley suffered mental anguish.

The plaintiffs hold Adventure Learning Center responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide appropriate play experiences and activities to meet the interest, needs and desires of the minor children, and negligently permitted Skyler and Chase Lashley to watch Coleton Lashley fight another child.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury; and seek judgment against defendant in excess of $25,000 and any additional relief that the court may deem appropriate. They are represented by Jennifer Collins Hansen of The Hansen Firm LLC in St. Louis.
