ST. LOUIS — A former live-in employee is suing Fr. Dempsey's Charities, d/b/a Fr. Jim's Home, The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of St. Louis and Martie Abousie, alleging harassment, physical abuse and intimidation.

Terence M. Mahoney filed a complaint on Jan. 3 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against the defendants alleging that he was verbally and physically attacked while employed at Fr. Jim's home from 2003 to 2015, was subjected to theft, and was threatened with termination if he complained about the treatment.

The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly subjected him to bullying, physical and verbal abuse, and harassment.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury; and seeks compensatory damages of $1 million and any further relief as the court deems appropriate. He is representing himself.

St. Louis Circuit Court case number 1822-CC00019
