ST. LOUIS — A motorist is suing another driver and the lumber company that owns the truck he was operating citing alleged negligence.

Bridgette Taylor filed a complaint on Jan. 3 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Liese Lumber Company Inc. and Donald Neff alleging that the defendant entrusted and operateda  tractor-trailer in a manner so as to cause a collision with another vehicle, resulting in injuries.

According to the complaint, Taylor alleges that on Nov. 24, 2015, while driving on North Taylor Avenue before its intersection with Page Boulevard, her vehicle was allegedly struck in the rear by a tractor-trailer owned by Liese Lumber Company and being operated by Neff.

As a result, Taylor claims she sustained serious, permanent and painful bodily injuries, and has been caused to incur bills and expenses for hospital care.

The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because Neff allegedly followed another vehicle too closely, operated the tractor-trailer truck at a rate of speed that was high, excessive, and dangerous under the circumstances, and failed to maintain a proper lookout when danger was imminent.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in an amount greater than $25,000 plus costs. She is represented by David G. Hughes of Mogab & Hughes Attorneys, PC in St. Louis.
