ST. LOUIS — A pedetrian is suing St. Alexius Hospital Corporation #1 and the City of St. Louis, alleging negligence.
Beatrice Sanders filed a complaint on Jan. 8 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against the defendants alleging that they failed to maintain a sidewalk in a reasonably safe condition.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Dec. 17, 2016, she was at St. Alexius Hospital when she slipped and fell due to water and ice that had accumulated on the sidewalk. She allegedly sustained serious and permanent injury to her right leg that caused her to incur medical expenses of more than $3,000.
The plaintiff holds St. Alexius Hospital Corporation #1 and the City of St. Louis responsible because the defendants allegedly negligently maintained the premises in a dangerous and unsafe condition by allowing ice to remain on the sidewalk, and failed to place warning signs or barricade the area.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury; and seeks judgment against the defendants in excess pf $25,000, plus costs expended for this action, and all further relief as the court deems just and proper. She is represented by Darin W. Sorrell of Sorrell & Traube in St. Louis.
