Driver and passenger allege other motorist negligent in crash

Car accident 43

ST. LOUIS — Motor vehicle driver and passenger are suing another driver, alleging negligence.

Jamar Welch and Bridget Randle filed a complaint on Jan. 16 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Antonio Pickens alleging that he failed to exercise the highest degree of care in operating a motor vehicle.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Jan 14, 2013 Randle was a passenger in an automobile being driven by Welch eastbound on Dr. Martin Luther King Drive. The vehicle was stopped at Taylor Avenue when the defendant allegedly drove his vehicle into Welch's car.  Randle and Welch allegedly  sustained personal injuries that caused them to suffer pain, disability and medical expenses in excess of $37,000.

The plaintiffs hold Pickens responsible because he allegedly negligently failed to sound his horn, or give any signal or warning of his approach, and failed to take evasive actions at the first appearance of danger.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek damages of more than $25,000, plus costs expended for this action. They are represented by Cecil L. Skaggs of Central West End Law Office in St. Louis.
