ST. LOUIS — A patient is suing Alan Harvey DMD and Branes-Jewish Hospital, healthcare providers, citing alleged negligence.

Sharon M. Ellis filed a complaint on Jan. 16 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against the defendants alleging that Harvey breached his duty to follow a planned surgery procedure.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Dec. 9, 2016 Harvey replaced her jaw joints with  titanium joints to correct her TMJ disorder. As a result of  Harvey's alleged carelessness, Ellis claims has suffered excruciating pain and was required to undergo additional surgeries to fix the problems.

The plaintiff holds Harvey and Branes-Jewish Hospital responsible because Harvey allegedly failed to install the implants as directed by the manufacturer and failed to consult pain management physicians.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury; and seeks damages of more than $25,000, plus costs of this suit and any further relief as the court may believe is proper.
