Motorist accused of running red light

ST. LOUIS — A motorist is suing another driver, alleging negligence.

Brandi Looker filed a complaint on Jan 16, in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Frances Lannom alleging that the other motorist negligently running a stop light.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 22, 2013 she was operating her motor vehicle on South Kingshighway Boulevard when defendant struck her vehicle. She sustained injuries to her head, neck and back. 

The plaintiff holds Lannom responsible because the defendant allegedly carelessly operated her vehicle at an excessive rate of speed, failed to maintain careful lookout, failed to yield the right of way, and failed to stop, reduce speed or swerve to avoid collision.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury; and seeks damages of not less than $25,000, plus interest, attorney's fees, costs, and any further relief that the court may deem just and appropriate. She is represented by Brian S. McChesney and Craig M. Ortwerth of McChesney & Ortwerth LLC in St. Louis.
