GEICO accused of breach of contract

Insurance 04

ST. LOUIS — An insured motorist is suing GEICO Casualty Company, alleging breach of contract.

Jeff Suttle filed a complaint on Jan. 16 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against GEICO Casualty Company alleging that the licensed insurer failed to perform its contractual obligations.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 2, 2016, he suffered a covered loss under the insurance policy issued by GEICO as a result of the carelessness of an underinsured motorist. He sustained injuries that caused him to suffer pain and suffering, lost wages, and medical expenses. He allegedly had properly furnished the defendant with due notice of claim for payments of the benefits due under the policy.

The plaintiff holds GEICO Casualty Company responsible because the defendant allegedly failed and refused to pay the full amounts due under the insurance contract.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury; and seeks damages in an amount between $25,000 and $75,000, plus costs of this action, and all other relief as the court may deem just and proper. He is represented by Christopher Hoffmann of The Hoffmann Law Firm LLC in St. Louis.
