ST. LOUIS — A motorist is suing Government Employees Insurance Company, alleging breach of insurance contract.
Jane Pryor Doss filed a complaint on Jan. 12 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Government Employees Insurance Company alleging that the licensed insurer violated the covenant of good faith and fair dealing.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 27, 2017 she was involved in a motor vehicle accident that was caused by an underinsured motorist. She sustained injuries to her cervical spine, lumbar spine, head, chest, arms and bones, incurring medical expenses of approximately $6,000. Despite the fact that Doss held uninsured driver coverage with Government Employees Insurance, the company allegedly has refused to pay for her expenses.
The plaintiff holds Government Employees Insurance Company responsible because the defendant allegedly failed and refused to honor its obligations under the policy.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury; and seeks damages of more than $25,000, plus costs of this action, and any further relief as the court may deem just and proper. She is represented by William K. Meehan of Meehan Law Firm in University City.
